Charles William's story

The bell has G W Hughes, listed as a Private.

The Tabernacle Messenger (church magazine) said that C W Hughes was one of the servicemen who received a parcel for Christmas 1914. Then in October 1915 it mentions a Sergeant Major Hughes, killed in action at the Dardanelles.
