Frederick's story

Bell has T Gray.

Thanks to Mrs Lilian Clack for identifying this man as Frederick Gray, a relative of hers.  Fred Gray left two children, Ivy and Eileen, and her great-great-uncle married his widow.

She remembers her mother went to the women’s meeting at the Memoiral Church.

Fred Gray was a private in the Essex regiment, B company 2nd Battalion

The Tabernacle Messenger of January 1915 lists the servicemen who received a parcel for Christmas 1914 and these include an A Gray.
